Microfluidics Internship

 

Job Description:

 

Seeking an R&D intern in microfluidics that works in collaboration with the R&D team on various projects. He or she will make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results. The intern will help prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses. The intern will be expected to maintain familiarity with current scientific literature and may also be responsible for conducting his or her own experiments.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Hands-on testing, integration and optimization of microfluidic systems including fluidics, hardware, firmware, software, and chemistry/reagents

  • Quickly fabricate and test prototyped microfluidic systems

  • Conduct system level testing, assay testing, image analysis

  • Translate benchtop assays to prototype microfluidic systems

  • Conduct various experiments, generate, and analyze results of experiments

  • Prepare technical reports or presentation of experimental results to the company

  • Maintain accurate record of laboratory work according to FDA standards and regulations

  • Assist other departments as needed, performing clerical tasks as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must be able to commit at least 15 to 20 hours per week.

  • 3rd and 4th-year students and recent grads in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related majors

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated

  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and biohazard safety a plus
