TECHNOLOGY-THE Epinex ACR Test

The Epinex ACR test provides quantitative results for the determination of albumin, creatinine, and the albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) in human urine.

The Epinex ACR test kit contains all of the necessary reagents for the determination of albumin, creatinine, and albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) in human urine. The urine sample is collected using a disposable pipette included with the test kit.

Albumin and creatinine are each quantified using an inhibition-based lateral flow immunoassay, in which the presence of the analyte causes a reduction in fluorescent test line signal.  A reader then reports analyte concentrations and the albumin-creatinine ratio based on test line signals.

The commercial test strip reader quantifies the fluorescent signals at the analytical regions by exciting the immobilized labels with a light source at a specific wavelength and detecting the emitted fluorescent signal from the labels.  Then, the reader computes the detected fluorescent signals from the analytical regions, which is correlated to the concentrations of albumin and creatinine.  The albumin-to-creatinine ratio is calculated from the concentration values obtained for albumin and creatinine.
