Asad Zaidi
Asad R. Zaidi, President & CEO

 

Asad R. Zaidi, President & CEO is a biochemist and biomedical engineer graduated with honors from University of California, Irvine. He has been involved with the development of heart valves, artificial coronary arteries, membrane oxygenators, dialyzers and various in-vitro-diagnostic and biomedical devices since 1973. His experience of over 25 years spans the growth of biomedical devices in companies such as Shiley (Pfizer), C.R. Bard, Mitral Medical, Bicer Medical, and Medtronic. He has been responsible for licensing and transferring medical device manufacturing technology from Latin America to Canada and to England. His areas of expertise range from product development to patenting and production. He has written and assisted in FDA submissions of 510k pre-market notifications, investigational device exemptions (IDE), and pre-market authorizations (PMA).

Henry Smith
Henry J. Smith Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer​

 

Henry J. Smith Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer, has over 30 years experience managing medical laboratories and biotechnology companies. Dr. Smith is at the forefront of research in cancer diagnostics and was one of the pioneers in developing the ever first test for CEA (carcinomaembryonic antigen), a cancer marker that still is utilized as a premier cancer diagnostic test. His research has led to the development of other novel assays such as estrogen receptor, HLA typing protocols and Acetylcholine receptor. His work in allergy testing led to the first report of the normal range for IgE. Dr. Smith has several patents in the diagnostic field, and has been instrumental in developing the methodology for the rapid assay for glycated albumin that underlies the Epinex G1A™ test. He has extensive expertise in determining experimental design, clinical validity, accuracy, reproducibility, stability and toxicity.

Azra Zaidi
Azra Zaidi, M.S., Director of Research & Development

 

Azra Zaidi, M.S., Director Research & Development, has extensive background in basic immunology research and product development in the diagnostic industry. She is especially experienced in the development of a wide variety of medical diagnostic assays and biotechnology techniques. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the Biotechnology program at University of California, Irvine. She has a B.Sc. in Microbiology, M.Sc. in Clinical Microbiology, M.S. Program courses in Immunology and has done her post graduate research work at UCLA Harbor Medical Center under the direction of prominent scientist Dr. Gerome Block, M.D. She has also published several technical papers. She is married to Asad Zaidi, President of the Company.

David Trasoff, Ph.D., Director of Communications

 

David Trasoff, Ph.D., Director of Communications, holds degrees from the University of Rochester (B.A. Biology Honors), Stanford University (M.A. Molecular Biology), and the University of California, Santa Barbara (Ph.D. Humanities). David has held teaching and research positions at several universities as well as operating businesses in graphic design, audio production and event management.
