Dr. Alejandro Gugliucci, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Alejandro Gugliucci, M.D., Ph.D., Research Director and Professor of Biochemistry at Touro University, is a nationally recognized authority on glycation and the role of AGEs (advanced glycation endproducts) in diabetes and other diseases. Dr. Gugliucci received his medical degree from the University of The Republic, Uruguay; and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Universite Louis Pasteur, France. Dr. Gugliucci has taught and done research at universities in Europe, South America and Japan prior to assuming his present post.

H. Vernon Roohk, Ph.D.
H. Vernon Roohk, Ph.D., has over 30 years of experience as a biomedical and bioengineering researcher and consultant. He is currently the Principal Scientist (Physiology) at American ImmunoTech and holds an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. He has published widely in his research specialties and holds several patents.

Saul Ship, Ph.D.
Saul Ship, Ph.D., has almost 25 years of marketing and management experience in the Diagnostics industry, including 14 years with Bayer/Miles. He began his industrial career as Educational Director in Canada, and held several Marketing positions including three years as International Marketing Director for Urinalysis Systems in Paris. His company, Ship & Associates, has worked with many Diagnostics companies as well as Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies

George E. Bernett, Ph.D.
George E. Bernett, Ph.D., is a distinguished laboratory director with nearly 50 years experience in clinical chemistry and tumor marker analysis. Dr. Bernett’s extensive professional experience includes the Pathology Laboratory at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan, in Los Angeles, California; and Professor of Chemistry at Colombia’s National University. He is highly traveled and respected in the clinical chemistry community with ties to international clinical science associations and hospitals. Dr. Bernett has a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, DIC from Imperial College of Sciences & Technology, University of London, England and a Doctor in Chemistry from the University of Rome, Italy.

Pamela Comstock, R.Ph.; M.B.A.
Pamela Comstock, R.Ph.; M.B.A., received her Registered Pharmacist degree from Brighton University, Brighton, England; and her Masters of Business Administration from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, California. She has over 15 years of clinical and business pharmacy experience as Corporate Director of Pharmacy for many healthcare companies including hospital, home infusion, dialysis, managed care and more recently outpatient and retail pharmacy. Her extensive entrepreneurial experience includes strategic development and implementation of clinical programs and management of pharmacy operations, as well as business development and marketing plans for related pharmacy services and products.

Dr. Omar Ali, M.D.
Dr. Omar Ali, M.D., is a professor of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His previous practice includes the Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California, and the UCLA-Mattel Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles, California. He received his medical training from the King Edward Medical College Lahore, Pakistan.

Dr. Salim Aziz, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Salim Aziz, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Clinical Professor of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in the Department of Surgery at George Washington University Hospital, in Washington, D.C. He received his medical degree from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of the University of London, and has held clinical, research and academic positions at Stanford University, the University of California San Diego, the University of Washington and the University of Colorado. He has published and lectured in a wide range of research in his field, including transplantation and atherosclerosis, and is currently investigating the cardiometabolic complications of diabetes, especially in patients undergoing cardiovascular-related surgery.
